What is Reiki?
Reiki means “Universal Life Energy”. Life energy flows in all living things and its’ free flow is vital to our well-being. Reiki is a safe, deeply relaxing and wonderful treatment. It is mostly experienced as a warm, peaceful and calming sensation. Reiki is a holistic therapy; it helps towards physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being During a treatment I will place my hands in a series of set positions on your body while you are fully clothed. The Life force flows through me to where you need it most, freeing blocked energy, balancing, harmonising and supporting body, mind and spirit. Reiki is a very high vibrational energy. Because it is vibrating at such a high frequency it can flow into and through anything, even solid matter.
Reiki works on all levels of a person: on the material, energetic, emotional, mental and spiritual level.
How does Reiki heal?
As Reiki flows into our aura and physical body it helps to break down blockages, clears and balances the
chakras, frees the meridians and nadis (energy channels) allowing the Life Force to circulate freely and naturally around the body. Reiki balances and harmonises the energy body promoting a general feeling of well-being.
Because Reiki is guided by a higher intelligence it always works for the highest good of the person being treated. Sometimes to heal a physical complaint, firstly an emotional problem, (release of anger, sadness, guilt), needs to be healed - or a state of mind, (negative thoughts, attitudes, concepts), needs healing first. The higher intelligence of Reiki recognises all this needs and flows where it is needed most. Through the high vibration of the Reiki energy any low or negative energies are dissolved and lifted to a healthy level.
Reiki is such a simple and beautiful treatment. It is totally safe, has no side effects and works well alongside conventional medicine. It can make us feel totally relaxed and improve the quality of our life.
Reiki supports, stimulates and accelerates the ability of the body to heal itself. Reiki can relieve us from stress and its’ associated symptoms, helping the immune system and cleansing the body of toxins. Reiki can help in releasing pain. Reiki can also promote wound healing and it can generally help to keep illness and fatigue at bay. Reiki also brings us more in tune, gives us more awareness of our bodys’ needs, such as a healthy diet, exercise, fresh air and rest.
Reiki can balance our emotions by flowing into our conscious and unconscious emotions, helping us to relieve negative emotions such as anger, jealousy, hatred, sadness and fear, and replacing them with caring, loving, supporting and trusting emotions. Reiki can help to heal old emotional wounds and help us to move forward after emotional traumas. Reiki also helps us to transform emotional energy into creativity. Reiki can bring us a new closeness to ourselves. It can open up new experiences and enhance or bring out our talents.
Reiki reaches all levels of a person’s thoughts helping to replace negative thought patterns with positive thoughts, peace and serenity. Reiki can free us from restrictive mental attitudes and conditioning. A state of deep relaxation is reached and stress and tension released. Reiki works with all levels of our consciousness making us more aware of whom we are and supporting us in realising and living our life to its’ full potential.
Reiki flows into our whole being: body, mind, spirit and soul. It helps us to love and accept ourselves for who we are and to accept others in the same way. It promotes the qualities of love, trust, understanding and compassion. Reiki helps us to feel the connection with the divine and supports us on our spiritual path. Reiki is not a religion, but it can deepen our spiritual experiences and help us to grow in consciousness.
My Reiki I, II and III courses are held on a regular basis. Dates are on the events section of my homepage. They are all two day workshops. I only teach small groups, so I can adapt the course according to individual needs.
Reiki is wonderful for self healing or healing others and is also a brilliant tool for awareness and growth. If you want to embark on the Reiki path find a teacher you feel comfortable with and supported and allow yourself time, don’t rush from one workshop to the other. It’s about the experience not the certificate. During the workshop you receive attunements, sometimes also called initiations. The initiation into Reiki is similar to tuning a radio to a desired station. When you are attuned to Reiki energy your channels are opened to the Universal Life Energy so that you can give Reiki to yourself or others at any time for the rest of your life. The Reiki Master uses sacred Symbols and sacred words (mantras) to attune your energy centres (chakras) to the Universal Life Energy during the initiation. Everyone experiences the initiation differently. They range from body sensations, healings, colours and visions to profound experiences. But whatever your experiences are during an attunement, you will definitely have the gift of Reiki forever! In addition the contact with the Universal Life Force can transform your life. (New opportunities, experiences, talents, a new closeness with yourself and others, personal growth etc.) .
My Reiki circles are held regularly - details can be found in the events section of my homepage. Reiki circles are for people who have already completed a Reiki course or are interested in Reiki.
